After-interview checklist

A few small steps after an interview make the wait easier and the next one better. It runs in your browser and nothing is saved.

Takes about 2 minutes

0 of 9 done

Same day

Write down the questions you were asked and how you answered while it is fresh.
Note the names and job titles of everyone you met.
Send a short thank-you to the people who interviewed you.

In the next few days

Write down what you were told about when you will hear back.
Send anything you promised, such as examples or a link.
Let the person who referred you know how it went, if you feel comfortable.

While you wait

Keep applying and talking to people, so one answer doesn't carry everything.
If the date they gave passes, plan one polite check-in.
Note one thing you would do differently next time.

Need the words?

Write a short thank-you, or work out sensible dates for a check-in.
