Referral message templates for LinkedIn
Short LinkedIn messages for asking a stranger, a former colleague or an alumnus for a referral.

LinkedIn messages are read on a phone between meetings. Keep yours short, specific and easy to decline. Connection requests have a short character limit, so save the longer version for after they accept.

Tips
- Send one message, not several in a row.
- Include the job link so they do not have to search.
- Say clearly that a no is fine. It makes a yes more likely.
